Everton’s Ademola Lookman is reportedly attracting interest from German side RB Leipzig.
Ademola Lookman’s name is propping up once again in the transfer market and Everton simply have to do their utmost best to keep hold of their talented attacker.
BBC Sport have claimed that German side RB Leipzig have made a renewed interest for the 21-year-old winger, who was on-loan at the Bundesliga club during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.
Firstly, Everton simply can’t allow this transfer to take place because of what Lookman can provide to the team next season and in the coming years.
The Toffees are growing as a unit, but they don’t have a plethora of attacking talent, even though they are fairly strong in the final third.
Therefore, they need to keep hold of their best talents and Lookman is more than definitely one of them because he is yet to showcase his best for the Merseyside club.
Secondly, it could even be argued that Lookman is a better player than current senior man Theo Walcott, who joined the club during the January 2018 transfer window when Sam Allardyce was in charge.
Walcott hasn’t set the world alight at Goodison Park, and given his age, the 30-year-old is not going to exactly start producing his best form in these coming years.
Since joining Everton, he has played 54 matches where he has scored nine goals and supplied five assists in all competitions [transfermarkt].
Thirdly, if Lookman were to leave for Germany, and in particular, RB Leipzig then he would join a team that will be playing in the Champions League next season.
Europe is what Marco Silva and his players are aiming for, so losing players to teams in Europe, whilst it is understandable, would be hard to take because it would feel like it’s stagnating their progress.
