Leeds United are looking for a new manager following the departure of Garry Monk.

Leeds United are on the lookout for a new manager following the shock resignation of Garry Monk.
Monk stepped down from his role at Elland Road despite almost leading the Whites to a top-six finish in the Championship this past season.
The West Yorkshire outfit are a massive club in England and will attract some high-profile managers.
Former Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka would be perfect for Leeds, and below are three reasons why.

Championship experience
Karanka knows the Championship inside out, having guided Middlesbrough to promotion from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 season. The Spaniard has also tasted Premier League football as a manager. This is certainly a huge advantage.

Connections
Karanka is a well-connected manager. Having worked with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, he could bring in some youngsters from Old Trafford for next season. Perhaps the Spaniard could even convince talented and promising young players from Madrid to switch to Leeds on loan.
Big-club experience
Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world, and Karanka has played for Los Blancos. The 43-year-old Spaniard has also worked as an assistant manager at Madrid. Such level of experience means that Karanka would not be intimidated at the prospect of managing a club like Leeds, who had over 30,000 fans at Elland Road for their home matches in the Championship on occasions this past season.
