West Ham are flying – and it may well continue for some time.
Summer signings
There is no doubting West Ham United did some of the best transfer business of the summer window.
And, with the east London side currently fourth in the Premier League table, their stellar signings don’t look like easing off anytime soon.
Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini and Victor Moses have all stood out but there are also the likes of Pedro Obiang and Angelo Ogbonna making the Upton Park outfit look like regulars in the top four.
Squad depth
But one of the Hammers’ newfound qualities as well as a strong starting XI is squad depth. James Collins was terrific against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon and he has merely been a back-up so far this season.
Michail Antonio is yet to majorly feature, too, with Alex Song coming back from injury soon, as well. If anyone dips in form or suffers an injury, West Ham now have other options to help continue their soaring success.
The manager
One of the biggest driving factors behind West Ham’s form, though, has been the attitude of manager Slaven Bilic. The Croat wants to win and there are many managers who don’t have the determination to turn that desire into action.
So far, Bilic has made excellent tactical decisions and looks to be on point with regards to his handling of the press and man management. But the best thing of all is the fact the West Ham boss has plenty of room for improvement, meaning the Irons will only strive to get better from here.
