Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table after a 2-1 win over Swansea City.

Despite the victory, Leeds can’t get ahead of themselves, with just three points separating them from third placed Sheffield United.

Here are three elements of Leeds’ performance which is reason for concern

Leeds still not killing teams off

Leeds should have been out of sight against Swansea by the end, before a late penalty made for a nervous final five minutes.

The Whites were 2-0 up after 34 minutes but could not find a third goal to truly wrap the game up.

Leeds had 19 shots at goal in total, and were too wasteful.

Their inaccuracy in front of goal cost them points in recent games against Norwich and Middlesbrough.

While they took two early chances here, Leeds need to develop a ruthless streak.

Kemar Roofe goal drought

Linked to Leeds’ lack of ruthlessness is Kemar Roofe’s loss of form.

Roofe has no goals in five games, and just one in his last eight.

The in form forward who struck four goals in two games before Christmas has disappeared.

Last night he was converted into a number 10, supporting Patrick Bamford.

In theory Leeds should be better with both forwards on the pitch, but they are still working it out.

Leeds need their top scorer to rediscover his form.

Still no clean sheet

Swansea’s late penalty meant Kiko Casilla is still waiting to record his first clean sheet.

Leeds’ last kept their opponents out a month ago, in the 2-0 win over Derby.

The Whites have just two clean sheets in their last 12 matches in all competitions.
