Can Leeds United get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season?

Leeds United are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are in the running for a playoff spot.

The West Yorkshire outfit are currently 11th in the league table with 16 points from 11 matches, just four points behind sixth-placed Birmingham City.

Below are three reasons for Leeds fans to be positive this season:

1) Competitive squad

Leeds do not have a ‘great’ squad, but the Whites do have enough quality players to launch a genuine challenge for the playoffs.

Chris Wood, Stuart Dallas, Charlie Taylor, Pablo Hernandez and Liam Bridcutt are some of the players who are very good and will prove to be crucial for the West Yorkshire outfit as the season progresses.

2) Stability

Leeds did not start the season well, but head coach Garry Monk did not lose his job. It seems that club chairman Massimo Cellino did retain his faith in the former Swansea City manager.

Monk is a very good and talented young manager, and the team’s recent results and upturn in form prove that.

There seems to be some stability at Elland Road at the moment, and it can only be something positive for the team and for the fans.

3) Centre-back partnership

Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson have formed a strong central defensive partnership for Leeds this season.

While Bartley joined the Championship club on a season-long loan deal from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, Jansson made a similar move from Torino.

The duo have been superb while playing together for the Whites, and their partnership has been important in Monk’s side winning games in the Championship in recent weeks.
