Karim Benzema, Isco and Jese should be on their radar.
Last night it was reported by The Telegraph that Real Madrid were carrying serious interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The report claimed that the England striker was all set to be signed as the long-term goalscoring successor to Cristiano Ronaldo – who turns 31 next month.
It will of course be met with the usual responses suggesting that Kane is never heading to Real Madrid but Tottenham fans have been here before with Luka Modric and Gareth Bale – if Real are serious they usually get their man.
But when Spurs sold those two stars to Real Madrid they only got cash in exchange.
If Kane goes in the summer then it is time Tottenham asked for someone in exchange.
So who should they ask for if they do end up selling Kane to Real?
Here are three potential options…
Karim Benzema
The French international striker would be a like for like swap in the striking department and would certainly help Spurs fans get over the departure of Kane.
However, that being said, this would significantly limit the amount of cash they received from any deal.
Isco
The Spanish international has struggled for regular football at the Bernabeu recently and would undoubtedly be a marquee signing in the attacking midfield position.
Again though, as with Benzema, do not expect much cash to come with him.
Jese
This seems a much better option.
The young Spaniard has bags of ability but rarely gets the opportunity to show it off at Real.
Real would have to spend a ton of money and throw Jese in to get Kane and considering his age it would be the most sensible long-term option.
