Rangers are preparing for this weekend’s game against Hamilton Academical.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard looks on during the Scottish Cup 5th Round Replay between Rangers and Kilmarnock at Ibrox Stadium on February 20, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers are busy preparing for this weekend’s game against Hamilton Academical, having thrashed Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

Four goals from Alfredo Morelos stole the headlines in the Scottish Cup replay, with Andy Halliday grabbing the other goal at Ibrox.

There is little time to celebrate for Steven Gerrard’s men though, as they face a trip to Hamilton on Sunday afternoon in the Scottish Premiership.

Gerrard was putting his players through their paces in training today, and eagle-eyed Rangers fans will have spotted some young faces in the squad.

A gallery of training images was posted on the official Rangers website earlier today, showing players wearing numbers 46, 51 and 53.

They belong to Rhys Breen, Lewis Mayo and Cameron Palmer respectively, with Gerrard giving the teenage trio a chance to train with the first team.

Midfielder Palmer (above) made a first team debut in the friendly against HJK Helsinki last month, whilst centre back Mayo is highly-regarded at Ibrox having penned a new contract back in October.

Fellow centre back Breen hasn’t been heralded quite as much so far, but Gerrard has seemingly seen enough quality from the 19-year-old to include him in first team training.

Two centre backs joining training ahead of the Hamilton game may give fans some cause for concern over first-team centre backs, with little word on Gareth McAuley’s avialability for the weekend, so Mayo or Breen could be in the travelling party if Gerrard needs bodies at the back.
