Rangers earned a superb 3-1 victory over Rapid Vienna at Ibrox to send them top of the Europa League’s Group G on Thursday night, and a whole host of players have reacted on Instagram after the win.

Alfredo Morelos put on a masterclass up front as he scored two goals and created another to give Rangers the lead in Group G, pushing them a step closer to qualification despite the odds being stacked against them.

Morelos nabbed two well-taken goals while earning the penalty that saw James Tavernier score his sixth goal of the season for the Gers. Manager Steven Gerrard described the performance as the best under his command.

Captain Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan and Daniel Candeias all reacted on Instagram the morning after the win, which sees Rangers taking four points from two games against Villarreal and Rapid.

Veton Berisha gave Rapid the lead towards the end of the first half but that seemed to wake Rangers up, with Morelos replying instantly thanks to an excellent Candeias cross.

Rangers dominated the second half and finally earned a penalty after Morelos bought a foul, which Tavernier dispatched to score his sixth of the season. With Rapid pushing, Candeias played in Morelos who nabbed his 10th of the campaign.

Focus now switches to Sunday for Rangers as they welcome Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts to Ibrox, in what will be a crucial game at this early stage in the league.
