Queens Park Rangers appear to be reaching the final phases of a transitional period after previously targeting marquee players and managers in an attempt to establish themselves in the top flight.

While the big names may have largely gone, there are still a handful of names that will surely be plying their trade in the Premier League in the future, whether that be as part of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s squad or with another club.

Here is a look at three players who look like they may have the ability or potential to play at the highest level at some point in the future.

Massimo Luongo

The 24-year-old left Tottenham Hotspur before he got the chance to make an appearance in the Premier League. But it is fair to say that based on his current form, he deserves to be on the radar of some top flight sides once again in the near future. He has arguably been the Hoops’ best player this term, and appears to have the attributes to cement himself as the side’s talisman as they attempt to make a dash for the top six this season.

Tjaronn Chery

Given the winger’s goalscoring record since his move to Loftus Road, it is perhaps a surprise that no top flight side has seemingly considered making a move for his signature. The 28-year-old has scored 14 times in the Championship, including four strikes already this season. The attacking midfielder’s versatility would surely make him a useful player at the highest level. But given his age, it appears that the Dutchman may perhaps be beginning to run out of time to earn that move, so could be left relying on inspiring QPR to promotion.

Olamide Shodipo

Of the trio on this list, the 19-year-old is unquestionably the wildcard. The winger only made his professional debut on the opening day of this season, and the early statistics are not impressive – he has failed to score or contribute an assist – but that does not mean that Shodipo does not have bags of potential. He is an exciting winger who has the ability to cause full-backs plenty of problems. If he can add some end product to his game over the course of this season, it is fair to say that he will be one to keep an eye on.
