Manchester United are said to have an instant recall clause on the Wolves loanee.

According to the Sun this week, Wolverhampton Wanderers face losing Manchester United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, with Jose Mourinho said to be unhappy at the left-back’s lack of game time.

Borthwick-Jackson has made just six appearances for Wolves so far, but returned to the side after a three-game absence for Rob Edwards’ first game in temporary charge.

However, if United were to trigger the instant recall clause which is understood to have been inserted into the 19-year-old’s contract, the Championship side would find themselves short until January.

So could any of the following names fill the void when the transfer window reopens?

Zeki Fryers

A strong candidate should Tim Sherwood take over at Molineux, having played under the former Tottenham Hostpur head coach in the Londoners’ development squad. Pape Souare’s horror injury has increased Fryers’ game time for Crystal Palace, although the Eagles may well add to their ranks this winter.

Angelino

The Manchester City teen has appeared twice under Pep Guardiola, having impressed during a loan spell at New York City FC. Further exposure to English football may now be forthcoming and Wolves could provide the ideal temporary home.

Ben Chilwell

Despite being rated as one of English football’s top prospects, Chilwell has featured just once for Leicester City this season. There has been talk of Foxes interest in Charlie Taylor at Leeds United, and any such move is sure to free up the under-21 international.
