Karim Benzema’s future at Al-Ittihad is certainly looking bleak, which has led to suggestions of interest from the Premier League.

HITC Football has reported that Karim Benzema’s meeting with Al-Ittihad did not lead to a resolution over his future at the club and the French forward is now training away from the main group and the situation has been described as ‘tense’.

The Saudi Pro League are determined to hold onto the French forward but this hasn’t stopped the former Real Madrid star from being linked with a move to the Premier League.

Here are three clubs that could benefit if they made the signing of Benzema.

Chelsea

The obvious name on this list for Benzema is struggling Chelsea as Christopher Nkunku remains unavailable for the Blues following yet another injury and Nicolas Jackson yet to convince the Argentine boss.

With Chelsea languishing outside of the Champions League spots, despite the vast amount of money that has been spent, goalscoring has remained a problem.

Taking their chances is something that they have struggled with this campaign with the Blues netting just 35 goals in the Premier League this campaign, despite the plethora of attacking talent available to Pochettino.

Signing Benzema could well be a good deal for the Blues as his experience and class would add to Chelsea’s struggling forward line.

Arsenal

Speaking of struggling to score goals takes us to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal who are seemingly in the market for a new centre-forward as they continue to labour to wins.

Apart from the dominant win over Crystal Palace this weekend, comfortable victories have been hard to come by for the Gunners this campaign and their struggles in front of goal were laid bare by Liverpool during the Merseyside club’s 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Ivan Toney has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a while but the big fee that Brentford will demand for the Englishman makes it unlikely to happen.

Perhaps Benzema, who has been linked with Arsenal previously, during Arsene Wenger’s days at the club, could well be a good move for both club and player,

The Gunners would get an experienced goalscorer to lead the line until the summer and Benzema would get his wish of moving back to Europe.

Tottenham Hotspur

The third, and potentially most unlikely, option for Benzema is Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur. A striker may well not be high on the agenda for Spurs but a man of Benzema’s experience wouldn’t go amiss.

Under the Australian, Spurs have a very young and inexperienced squad, so bringing in a player of Benzema’s quality and class, similar to Chelsea, could well be a smart signing.

Perhaps, if Spurs qualify for the Champions League, Benzema could become more of a realistic target for the North London side.

As Timo Werner’s time in London would be up at the end of the campaign, the addition of the French forward makes a lot of sense.
