The Tottenham Hotspur player could do a great temporary job at West Ham United, Watford or Sunderland.

In a recent interview with Kleine Zeitung, Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer admitted that while it is a positive to be considered as a future star of the club, it is all about the here and now.

With the Austria international struggling for game-time, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen the undisputed first choice pairing and Cameron Carter-Vickers rated highly by manager Mauricio Pochettino, a short-term switch could be best for all concerned.

Wimmer remained non-committal when asked about a possible January switch but if he does head out on loan there are plenty of Premier League clubs who would benefit from his presence:

West Ham United

West Ham have the worst defensive record in the league this season, conceding 17 goals in just seven matches and slipping into the bottom three as a result.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic knows something has to change and making a move for Tottenham’s man mountain would certainly be a step in the right direction.

If he did switch to West Ham he would always be able to remain in London, which could be a big factor in any decision.

Sunderland

It would be a considerably longer trip, but if Wimmer headed on loan to Sunderland he could prove to be an instant fix for their defensive woes.

Sunderland manager David Moyes has signed his fair share of defenders but they have flattered to deceive thus far and a pairing of Lamine Kone and Kevin Wimmer could be exactly what the Black Cats need.

Watford

The Hornets are making a habit of recruiting ex-Tottenham players and with 13 goals conceded already this season they could do with another.

Wimmer could set up alongside Younes Kaboul and get the regular minutes he deserves at Watford before heading back to White Hart Lane next summer ready to prove Pochettino wrong.
