HITC Sport takes a look at three players from the Dutch Eredivisie which Newcaste United could pursue this summer.

As many expected, it’s been an excellent season for Newcastle United, and the Magpies look set to bounce straight back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Coming to the surprise of no one after the club tied down Champions League winning manager Rafa Benitez, the Toon Army have been a real force in the Championship this season.
Knowing they will need to strengthen their side over the summer to be best equipped to stay up in the Premier League, Rafa Benitez is likely to already be drawing other potential transfer targets. With this in mind, HITC Sport has taken a look at three players in the Dutch Eredivisie, who could fit the bill perfectly for the Magpies, should they be promoted.
1. Sam Larsson – Heerenveen

The Swedish winger has been in fine form for Heerenveen this season, lighting up the Eredivisie with his skill, pace, and ability to take on defenders. At just 23, Sam Larsson is a very exciting young talent, and might not cost the same kinds of prices for players of his ability in the Championship and the Premier League. With Newcastle United needing a bit more flair and goal threat on the left-hand side, Sam Larsson might be the perfect option for Rafa Benitez this summer.
2. Eric Botteghin – Feyenoord

The Brazilian centre-back has been a rock at the back for Feyenoord this season, and has played a major part in the sides six-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie. Tall, strong and deadly from corners, Botteghin is arguably the best centre-half in the Dutch league, and could be an excellent addition to Newcastle United’s already impressive back-line.
3. Davy Klaasen – Ajax

How Ajax have managed to keep hold of their captain for the last two years, we’re not sure, but Davy Klaassen is one player who could certainly make the step up to Premier League football. The powerful central midfielder, who is adapt defensively as he is going forward, has bossed the Dutch league for the last year or so, and is known for coming up with important goals for his side. If the right price was offered, a club of Newcastle United’s size could surely tempt the Ajax skipper away, especially with the added lure of Premier League football.
