Ronald Koeman has cast doubt over his Everton future after admitting that it would be a “dream” to manage Barcelona, the club he played for between 1989 and 1995.
Koeman has since said that he will see out his contract at Goodison Park first, which still has two more years to run, but with Luis Enrique departing Barca this summer the speculation remains.
So if the Dutchman were to leave Merseyside for the Nou Camp, who could replace him as Toffees boss? Here are three potential successors.
Frank de Boer
De Boer was heavily linked with the job last summer before his fellow countryman Koeman eventually took it, having impressed at Ajax over the previous six years with four Eredivisie titles.
The 46-year-old instead took charge at Inter Milan, but was sacked on November 1 with the club 12th in Serie A and is yet to find a new role in management.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe

Also being touted as a potential to succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, Howe is probably the brightest English coach in the sport currently after leading AFC Bournemouth from Sky Bet League Two to the Premier League.
The 39-year-old would certainly be seen as a long-term project from Everton, something the club has previous in with David Moyes having spent 11 years in charge.
