Marco Silva was sacked by Watford on Sunday but the highly-rated manager may not stay out of work for long.

Marco Silva became the eighth Premier League managerial casualty of the season when he was sacked by Watford on Sunday.
The Hornets had only won one of their last 11 league games but news of Silva’s departure came as a surprise after the club rejected a £10m approach from Everton only two months ago, according to The Independent.
The Portuguese has earned plenty of admirers with his work at Watford and Hull City, so where might he pop up next? Here are three potential destinations…
Everton
It all started going wrong for Silva at Vicarage Road when he was seemingly distracted by Everton’s attempt to lure him to Goodison Park. The Toffees didn’t get their man in November, but might they try again in the summer?

According to Sky Sports, Sam Allardyce is contracted on Merseyside until June 2019, but the ownership may be concerned with the dip in form that Everton have suffered since a period of stabilisation under the 63-year-old.
Allardyce was a short-term appointment to steer the Toffees away from relegation trouble, but Silva may still be the man that the club’s ownership see as the long-term visonary who can help them gatecrash the top six.
Southampton
Mauricio Pellegrino may be next manager on the Premier League chopping block. The Saints put in an impressive display to draw 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, but it is now 10 top-flight matches without victory.
With Silva now available, the Southampton board might take the decision to move for the 40-year-old before another club takes him off the market. The Saints have regressed under Pellegrino but there is still plenty to work with.

Newcastle United
The Toon Army are very happy with their current manager, Rafael Benitez, but his patience may be wearing thin with the ownership at St James’ Park with Mike Ashley failing to either back him in the transfer market, or sell the club.
Benitez’s future on Tyneside may depend on whether he gets some money to spend in the remaining days of the January window as he aims to bolster his relegation-threatened squad with some higher-quality additions.
Should the Spaniard not be satsfied with the investment from the hierarchy, it is quite plausible that he could walk away from Newcastle, and Silva would be top of the shortlist of qualified candidates to replace him.
