Tottenham can be positive despite failing to win against rivals.

It says something about a performance when Tottenham are disappointed not to win away against their rivals.
Spurs let slip a two goal lead to draw 2-2 at The Emirates. It means Spurs sit in ninth place, with just five points from four matches.
Despite this, there is reason for Tottenham fans to be optimistic. Here are three positives to cling onto…
Three new signings have barely got started
Tanguy Ndombele was conspicuous by his absence at The Emirates. The central midfielder missed the game with injury and Tottenham could really have done with him.
Ryan Sessegnon has not featured yet due to injury sustained before his move. Giovani Lo Celso has only played as a substitute.
The Tottenham we have seen over the first month of the season is not the Spurs team which will be in full flow midway through the campaign.

Dele Alli is back
Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli featured as a substitute at The Emirates and could even had had a penalty.
At his best, Alli is a 20 goal a season midfielder, even if his form early in 2019 was short of the previous standards he had set.
Having him back is crucial for Spurs and the competition for places could bring out the best in him.
Vertonghen and Eriksen
Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen have been left out of Tottenham’s side in recent matches amid concerns over their future.
Tottenham must set that side for now, and concentrate on playing their strongest team.
Vertonghen and Eriksen showed at the weekend that Mauricio Pochettino is coming back around to this idea, and both players will be back involved.
Fitting everybody in is tough for Spurs, but their performances against Arsenal were a welcome reminder that both Eriksen and Vertonghen have key roles to play.
