Liverpool fans may be hoping for new signings in January, but some fringe players may need to move on to create some room.
With that in mind, here are three players who should be viewing January as a chance to leave Liverpool and play first-team action elsewhere.
Divock Origi
He has been an unlikely hero for Liverpool over the years, scoring memorable goals against Everton and Barcelona as well as the Champions League-clinching strike against Tottenham, but it may be time for Origi to go. The Belgian has only played twice in the Premier League this season for a total of seven minutes, slipping down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order. He’s made no impact in three Champions League starts, and with his 26th birthday on the horizon, he should be looking to leave for a bigger role with another club.
Adrian
It feels like the 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa was the beginning of the end for Adrian. He was poor on the ball and offered little in the way of resistance against the Villa attack, and it cost him. The Spaniard is now behind Caoimhin Kelleher in the Liverpool pecking order, whilst youngster Marcelo Pitaluga is emerging too. Adrian’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he may be better off trying to find a new club now rather than sitting on the sidelines until summer.

Yasser Larouci
Larouci has blazing speed and versatility to play at left back or on the left wing, but he has played just twice for Liverpool’s Under-23’s this season. The Algerian is out of contract in the summer, and after summer links away from the club, it may be the right time for him to go; Liverpool can get in a strong fee and Larouci can find a new home to play first-team football having been somewhat forgotten about this season.
