HITC Sport looks at three Glasgow Rangers players who may regret their Ibrox move last summer.

It has been five months since Rangers sacked Pedro Caixinha but his legacy remains in the form of some of the players.

Some of his signings have been excellent, while others have been dreadful and here, HITC Sport looks at three players who probably regret not screening Caixinha’s call when he rang them last summer.

Nathaniel Chalobah of England is tackled by Dalcio Gomes of Portugal during the Toulon Tournament match between England U21 and Portugal U20 at Stadium Leo Lagrange on May 19, 2016 in...

Dalcio

The 21-year-old could probably walk into any renowned Celtic pub in Glasgow and mingle with the occupants as if he was just any other man. That is because Dalcio has only played three minutes of football for Rangers in any competition since joining on a season-long loan from Benfica B. Graeme Murty handed him the slightest of lifelines in January by giving him a 45-minute game in a friendly against Atletico Mineiro, but the fact he hasn’t been seen in a Rangers jersey since suggests that he didn’t take make the most of the opportunity.

Carlos Alberto Pena of Rangers scores the opening goal of the game during the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Carlos Pena

The Mexico international arrived with a big reputation and an even bigger price-tag, but Pena didn’t live up to either. Signed for £2.7 million, the 27-year-old, who has 19 caps for his country, signed for Caixinha’s Cruz Azul on loan in January after netting five goals in 14 games for Rangers. It’s not a bad record, but a lot more was expected from him overall having cost so much money.

Eduardo Herrera of Rangers celebrates after he scores his teams third goal during the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Eduardo Herrera

Two goals in 23 games for Rangers across all competitions ought to illustrate that Herrera has been anything but a good return for the £1.5 million spent on him. The Mexican striker, an unused sub in the Gers’ last six games, also suffered the ignominy of seeing Kenny Miller and Joe Dodoo playing ahead of him in a recent Scottish Cup win over Falkirk, which was the biggest indication yet that he has no future at Ibrox.

Like Pena, Herrera joined Rangers as a full Mexico international, but it has never looked like working out and he, like the two others, might wish he had never joined the club.
