After an outstanding start to the season, Leeds United’s form has nosedived of late, with seven defeats in their last nine league games. With The Whites slipping down to 10th place in the Championship, here are three Leeds players who need to step up their game.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga

The German targetman netted a brace on his debut for The Whites back in early September but has since netted just three league goals and has looked isolated up top, and was easily marked out of the game by Brentford’s back line on Saturday afternoon.

A goal against Derby last week has somewhat helped ease worries surrounding the former Hertha Berlin striker’s form in front of goal, but he needs to start producing on a consistent basis if Leeds are to get this season back on track.

Felix Wiedwald

The German keeper was signed from Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen in the summer but after a disastrous set of performances, was dropped for the experienced Andy Lonergan.

After a fairly promising start to his stint in the side, Lonergan’s form has deteriorated and the former Bolton man was responsible for both Neal Maupay and Yoann Barbet’s goals on the weekend against Brentford. This could be the perfect chance for Wiedwald to take back his spot in the side, but he needs to set a higher standard if he retakes the number one shirt.

Kemar Roofe

Roofe has shown form in patches during his time at Elland Road but is yet to demonstrate the kind of performances that saw him register 26 goals in one season for Oxford United in their promotion-winning League Two season.

After a solid start to the campaign, like the club’s form, Roofe has struggled of late and finds his spot in the starting eleven at risk. With Samuel Saiz the standout player and Ezgjan Alioski at least looking dangerous, Roofe is in danger of falling out of favour.
