With Chelsea beating Leicester City 4-2 in the EFL Cup, we take a look at three players who had an impressive night

Cesc Fabregas scored twice in extra time as Chelsea beat Leicester City 4-2 in the EFL Cup at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
Antonio Conte’s side had to come from two goals down in the first half after a brace from Shinji Okazaki had put Leicester 2-0 up after only 34 minutes.
But after a Gary Cahill header and a stunning strike from Cesar Azpilicueta had pulled Chelsea level, neither side could find a winner as the game headed to its closing moments.
With Chelsea having brought on Diego Costa and Eden Hazard as they searched for a winner, Leicester’s luck nosedived as defender Marcin Wasilewski was sent off for a second bookable offence.
In extra time Conte’s side looked to take advantage of the extra man and it was left for the 29-year-old Fabregas to seal Chelsea’s progress into the next round of the competition with his two goals in three minutes.
With Chelsea now into the fifth round draw, we take a look at the three players who impressed during the match.
Cesc Fabregas
Having barely featured for Chelsea, particularly as a starter, this was the 29-year-old’s chance to really lay down a marker and show Conte what he could do, and he did just that.
Although he started the game slowly, in the deeper role alongside Nemanja Matic, Fabregas’ class shone through as he became more and more involved in the game.
Once he was moved further forward his link-up play was better and he was ultimately the difference between the two sides, having scored the two goals that sent Chelsea through to the fifth round.

Diego Costa
The introduction of Costa in the 67th minute changed the game for the away side, with the enigmatic Brazilian being at the heart of the Chelsea attacks as they went in search of the winner.
The Brazilian’s strength in the final third looked like it could be the difference between the two sides, and while it was Fabregas that scored the goals, Costa played such a pivotal part in both strikes that he will have left the field feeling his work had been done.

Shinji Okazaki
Okazaki will feel that he put in a performance worthy of leaving the pitch knowing he had helped Claudio Ranier’s side into the next round, but it was not to be.
The Japanese international grabbed a brace as Leicester went into the lead inside the opening 34 minutes, and will hope these goals will be the catalyst for what is to come.
This was the first time the 30-year-old had scored since March and his performance was one of Leicester’s real positives from the game.
