Christian Eriksen has really rubber stamped himself as one of the worlds best playmakers and his sublime hat-trick against the Republic of Ireland made his stock rise even further.

He’s been sensational for Tottenham Hotspur over the last couple of seasons and he’ll be Denmark’s main man at the World Cup – being quoted by the Star as hoping to bring his A game to the Russia and lighting up the tournament. With that will come the inevitable links to the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Apart from Harry Kane, losing Eriksen would be the biggest blow Spurs could suffer but on the other hand, they’re likely to have at least £100m to re-invest. Here are three players who Mauricio Pochettino could bring in to replace him should an unwelcome sale occur:

Thomas Lemar

Thomas Lemar was one of Europe’s most sought after players last summer. Both Arsenal and Liverpool were close to signing him for around £92m. The attacker can play on either wing and also in a free-role where he would most likely be deployed at Spurs.

Spurs are interested according to the Metro and Lemar’s excellent dribbling ability, link up play and eye for goal match up the attributes of Eriksen and the 21 year-old could be the perfect fit for Pochettino. He scored 11 times last season.

Manuel Lanzini

When Dimitri Payet left West Ham last January, Lanzini stepped up and became West Ham’s talisman. He’s scored crucial goals and is by far their most creative outlet.

Pochettino is a fan of his fellow countryman and is apparently considering making a move for the Argentine in January according to The Sun. The 24-year-old isn’t at Eriksen’s level yet but is steadily improving and Pochettino is known to progress players. He’s scored 16 goals since joining West Ham in 2015.

Javier Pastore

The arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have seen the Argentine’s game time reduced, he’s only featured in six of Paris St Germain’s league games this term.

He’s also competing with the likes of Marco Verratti, Adrien Rabiot, Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler for a place in team and it’s reported he could be available for just £18m according to the Daily Star. The 28 year-old has 42 goals and 53 assists to his name at PSG.
