The Huddersfield Town boss, who is close friends with Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp, is said to be in contention to replace Slaven Bilic at West Ham United.
Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner is the latest to be linked with a move to West Ham United should Slaven Bilic depart.
If appointed at the London Stadium, could the German-American utilise his connections to sign the following Huddersfield Town, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool players?
Tommy Smith (Huddersfield Town)
The right-back has excelled for Huddersfield this term, scoring four goals and assisting seven to earn a place in the Championship team of the season. West Ham are expected to strengthen in Smith’s position and the 24-year-old is sure to be keen on a move if the Terriers stay down.

Erik Durm (Borussia Dortmund)
Durm played under Wagner in Dortmund’s second string, later making the step up to senior level. The versatile full-back missed a large chunk of the campaign through injury, but recently returned to action on the right of midfield. With competition fierce at the Westfalenstadion, the 24-year-old might want to consider his options this summer.

Danny Ings (Liverpool)
The former Burnley striker has had rotten luck with injuries since getting his big move to Liverpool two summers ago and may find Klopp’s team tough to break into upon his return. West Ham are in desperate need of a goalscorer and Ings could be that man if Wagner arrives.

Would Wagner be a good appointment for West Ham United?
