Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe

According to Sky Sports, West Ham are one of the many Premier league clubs who remain interested in signing Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.
West Ham need a striker and the club look to turn again to an old face for goals. The 34-year-old made his name with West Ham before moving to Tottenham Hotspur, having handed in a transfer request soon after the club had been relegated from the Premier League.
Defoe has scored 15 goals for Sunderland in 2016/17, but with the Black Cats relegated he could move on. The England striker is available on a free transfer, but he is reportedly demanding £100,000-a-week and a £6 million (The Sun) signing on fee.
Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough)
The 24-year-old Middlesbrough defender has been outstanding this season, and has reportedly caught the attention of West Ham and Liverpool.

The player wants to remain in the Premier League, as per Sky Sports, and a host of Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea are vying for his signature.
Gibson has played in every league match this season for Boro, and would be an exceptional signing for West Ham.
Harry Maguire (Hull City)
According to reports from the Daily Star, Hull City defender Harry Maguire is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs, including West Ham.
Maguire has been impressive this season for Hull City, and would be a good signing for West Ham. However, the Hammers may face strong competition the likes of Tottenham, Everton and West Brom for his signature.
