Tottenham Hotspur are yet to confirm any moves this summer. Could that change?
Potentially a big day awaits at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, with the calendar turning to July 1.
Following Tottenham’s kit launch, and The Sun reported this week the club may be holding back on new signings to follow up with the unveiling of the new Nike shirt.
With that in mind, who could Tottenham possibly be looking to announce?
They haven’t made any signings yet, but here are three who they could, along with one other – perhaps more likely option.
Vincent Marcel
This one could be very viable. The Nice winger is in Tottenham’s transfer plans after impressing scouts, and this week Footmercato reported he has agreed personal terms with Spurs.
The youngster wouldn’t necessarily be the marquee name who can transform the team, but his acquisition could be a good way to get the ball rolling this summer.
Ross Barkley
Everton ace Ross Barkley has been linked to Spurs for months, having rejected a new contract at the Toffees.
Everton’s Ross Barkley in action
SkySports reported last week they have been playing hardball with Everton over a price.
It may be too tough for Spurs to have pulled off such a big transfer under the radar, but Barkley would be a big enough name to ensure the kit launch gets all the attention the club crave.
Lemar
This is the one fans really want, to have pulled off a record move for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.
The likelihood of it happening is low, but if chairman Daniel Levy wants to be hailed a mastermind, this would do the trick.
Toby Alderweireld
Most likely of all is that Tottenham celebrate Friday’s kit deal announcement by unveiling one of their own players – celebrating a new contract for Toby Alderweireld.
Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld
The Belgian is arguably the best defender in the Premier League and Spurs have been working to extend his deal, The Mirror report.
A move could see him become the club’s highest earner and even if there are no ‘new’ signings’ this would be great reason to celebrate.
