Sunderland are struggling in the lower depths of the Championship and need January investment.

Chris Coleman desperately needs to invest in the January transfer window as Sunderland manager in order to keep the Wearside club in the Championship as they flirt with relegation from the second tier of English football.
Coleman, who joined the Black Cats following the sacking of Simon Grayson, managed Wales before moving to the Stadium of Light and should look to sign three players that he called up to represent his country. Here are three possible targets.
Chris Gunter (Reading)
The versatile defender is an experienced Championship defender that has made 365 appearances in the second division, and can offer cover on either side of a back four as well as being a central defender.

His knowledge of the division, as well as clocking up 85 Wales caps with the majority of those coming under Coleman, would see Sunderland benefit from the exact quality required to steer the north east club clear of relegation.
Jazz Richards (Cardiff)
Out of action due to an ankle injury, the 26-year-old was given his Wales debut by Coleman in 2012 and went on to make 13 caps for his national side.
Sunderland need defensive additions and Richards can offer versatility, like Gunter, on both sides of the defence. Likely to admire Coleman due to his national team debut, he could thrive under Coleman at the Stadium of Light.

Tom Bradshaw (Barnsley)
Lewis Grabban has arguably been Sunderland’s best goalscorer, with a ratio of almost one goal in every two games. However, he has been linked to other clubs, and it should make Coleman draw up a list of possible replacements.
Bradshaw, who was also given his debut by Coleman, has notched up nine goals in 27 league and cup outings for Barnsley and he could increase that number under his former Wales boss.
