The Burnley boss has been linked with the newly vacant Everton post.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is in contention to replace Ronald Koeman at Everton, according to the Independent.

Dyche has established himself as one of England’s brightest managers in recent years, through spells at Watford and Burnley – whom he has twice led to the Premier League.

But which, if any, of his former players might the 46-year-old target if he heads to Merseyside?

Ben Mee

Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams have shown their age this campaign, leaving a centre-back high on the new man’s agenda. Mee, who partnered Everton’s Michael Keane long-term at Burnley and would also provide cover for Leighton Baines on the left, could be ideal – having performed excellently so far. His contract expires at the end of next season, and he would surely be open to following Dyche across Lancashire.

Robbie Brady

Capable of filling two positions in which Everton are currently short – left-back and out wide – it’s plausible that Brady would feature on Dyche’s wishlist were the Clarets boss to up sticks. The Irishman’s crosses could breath new life into the Toffees’ front line. However, having been signed by Dyche for around £12 million earlier this year, Brady, who was linked with a move to Everton before then, would unlikely come cheap.

Troy Deeney

It wasn’t until Dyche’s appointment at Watford that Deeney’s career as a Championship striker started to take off. He’d occasionally featured as a winger under previous boss Malky Mackay, but scored 12 goals in Dyche’s only season in charge at Vicarage Road and never looked back. Burnley tried to reunite the pair in 2014 but balked at Watford’s £8 million asking price. Everton have been linked with Deeney in the meantime, and the move could finally happen if Dyche leaves for Goodison.

Would Dyche be a good appointment for Everton?
