Rafael Benitez will be looking to bolster his squad in the summer transfer window following Newcastle United’s promotion to the Premier League.

The Spaniard has managed clubs in England, Italy and Spain in his managerial career, and could be looking to raid some of his former clubs for the rebuilding job.

Mamadou Sakho (Liverpool)

The Frenchman does not seem to have a long term future at Anfield.

He did a decent job during his loan spell at Crystal Palace, and Liverpool can expect to recoup a substantial fee from his sale.

Sakho is good enough to play for any top team in the world and would be a great signing for the Magpies.

Dani Parejo (Valencia)

Valencia, struggling in La Liga, could be looking to sell some of their key players to raise money and add new faces.

Parejo, 28, claimed earlier this year that he rejected the chance to leave the club (ESPN) in the January transfer window, out of love and respect.

However, things could be different in the summer as Parejo could be tempted to leave Mestalla. The Spaniard would add immense depth and quality to Rafa Benitez’s side.

Tammy Abraham (Chelsea)

The 19-year-old has scored 23 goals in the Championship for Bristol City this season. The question is can he make the cut in the Chelsea senior squad next season?

The Blues are expected to sign a top striker in the summer irrespective of whether Diego Costa stays or not, and Abraham as such could struggle for regular games at the Bridge.

Chelsea are unlikely to sell him permanently, but the Blues will happily allow him join a Premier League club.

Newcastle should not lose this opportunity of signing him, albeit on loan.
