Newcastle United fans will be dreaming big in the summer if recent rumours of a takeover happen.

Dubai-based billionaire Khaled bin Zayed has agreed terms to buy Newcastle United, according to his UAE investment group, as reported by BBC Sport.
If the takeover does happen, here are three ambitious signings Newcastle and Rafa Benitez can make this summer, with the list including an Everton playmaker, Tottenham defender and an in-demand Bournemouth striker.
Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier: A long shot, but like it says in the title, it’s ambitious. The Mail recently claimed that Trippier is considering his future at the North London club after being dropped by England. It is said that a fee of £30million could tempt Spurs to sell, with the likes of Everton, Manchester United & Napoli interested in his services. If someone like Everton, who are not playing European football showing interest then there’s no reason why Newcastle can’t.
Everton playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson- The Toffees playmaker has had another outstanding season at Goodison Park and is the type of player that Newcastle fans have been dreaming of trying to sign in recent years.
Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson – Another player that fits into the Sigurdsson category. Whilst Salomon Rondon produced the goods for Newcastle this season, the club have been crying out for a regular goalscorer and someone like Wilson would be perfect.

Whilst all of this would be a dream for the Toon Army faithful, the talk of a possible takeover has seen some fans dreaming big, and why wouldn’t they!?
With Mike Ashley in charge, there is still a long way to go in handing over the baton to a Dubai-based billionaire, but if it does happen then the Newcastle fans won’t stop partying.
Over 10 years ago, Manchester City found themselves in this situation when Sheikh Mansour bought the club in 2008, one of the first signings they made was the £32.5 million purchase of Real Madrid’s Robinho [Telegraph].
A lot has to happen before Newcastle are dreaming of these types of signings, but if it does happen then they’ll cause havoc across England’s top-flight given the size of the club.
