How Leeds United should follow Pablo Hernandez’s signing.

Leeds United have completed the signing of Pablo Hernandez, the club announced via their official website last night.

Hernandez signs on a six month loan deal with the option to be made permanent in January.

Despite him becoming the club’s seventh summer signing, more new faces are needed in key positions.

Here are three players they need to add…

Liam Bridcutt

Sunderland Bridcutt

A loanee at Leeds United last season, Bridcutt quickly won over fans with his tenacious displays.

He remains available from Sunderland, and will add steel to a midfield which is lacking Lewis Cook, sold last month to Bournemouth.

Bridcutt could settle in quickly at Leeds, and while the Whites are interested, the Yorkshire Evening Post report Leeds and Sunderland cannot agree on a fee.

Adrian Mariappa

Crystal Palace’s Adrian Mariappa looks dejected after losing the FA Cup

Jamaican international Adrian Mariappa is a free agent after his Crystal Palace contract expired, and could add real quality to the Leeds defence.

He would compete with Sol Bamba, Liam Cooper and loanee Kyle Bartley, and form a solid quartet of players who can all expect to play their part in 2016/17.

With Championship experience with Watford and Reading, the 29-year-old also featured in the FA Cup final this past May as a substitute.

Rico Henry

Rico Henry is one of the most highly rated left-backs in the Football League, and the Mirror reported earlier this summer he is a target for Leeds.

Leeds could act on this if they are pushed into selling Charlie Taylor who has only one year left on his contract, but they can save themselves the headache and a late deadline day rush if they sign Henry first.
