Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton have had an impressive start to the season. The Toffees have only lost four of their opening 11 games and are just four points off fourth-placed Leicester City in the Premier League table.

Summer signings James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan have all performed brilliantly so far. Everton fans will be hoping that the trio can fire them to a top-seven finish, but they need more help.

The January transfer window is just a few weeks away and a few top-class signings could make the Toffees a real force in the second half of the Premier League season.

Here are three players Everton can sign in January

Ivan Toney:

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has undoubtedly been Everton’s star this season. The Englishman has scored 14 times already this term, but the Toffees have no real backup if he gets injured in the coming weeks.

Brentford’s Toney is reportedly on Ancelotti’s radar to fill that void, and he would be an incredible signing. (Calciomercato) The 24-year-old only joined the Bees this summer and he has hit the ground running. The Englishman has scored 14 goals in 16 games in the Championship so far this season.

Toney isn’t short of any self-belief either as he compared himself to AC Milan superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic not too long ago. (Sun) Signing him will not be easy, but if Everton can pull this off, the burden on Calvert-Lewin will decrease considerably.

Sami Khedira:

Football Italia claimed a few weeks ago that Everton are leading the race to sign Sami Khedira in January. The World Cup winner is not in Andrea Pirlo’s plans at Juventus, and he is expected to move away from Turin next month.

Khedira even fueled the rumours recently by claiming that a reunion with Ancelotti in the Premier League ‘is an option’, in an interview with ZDF a few days ago.

The German isn’t the player he was a few years ago, but his experience could make a huge difference at Everton. There have been rumours about Juventus terminating his contract as well, which makes him a very affordable option for the Toffees if they want to bring him in.

Isco:

This is the transfer that a majority of Everton fans are dreaming about. Isco has no future at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane, and reports have claimed that he could follow James Rodriguez to Goodison Park in January. (Mirror)

The Spaniard is a fantastic footballer who can make a real difference to any side he ends up in. Ancelotti knows him well thanks to their time together in the Spanish capital, and it will not be a surprise if the Italian convinces him to make the switch next month.
