HITC Sport have been looking at some former Celtic players who fans might like to see back, including a Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.
General view of Celtic Park
As many expected, Brendan Rodgers has gotten off to a spectacular start at Celtic Park, taking Celtic an incredible 27 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Having been transformed into a force that could well achieve something special in the Champions League next year; the future is looking bright for Celtic supporters.
But which former Celtic players would fans love to see return to Celtic Park? HITC Sport has gathered a list of three who fans might love to see return, but did we get our picks right? Let us know in the comments section below!
1. Virgil Van Dijk

The Dutch defender has gained many admirers during his time at Southampton, having shone at Celtic Park. Making 76 appearanes for Celtic, Van Dijk departed for the South Coast in 2015, with many wondering whether or not he would be able to make the step up to playing in the Premier League. However, Van Dijk has taken to it like a duck to water, and is now considered to be one of the most exciting young defenders in the division. Van Dijk would certainly help shore Celtic up at the back during their Champions League campaigns!
2. Victor Wanyama

Joining Celtic in 2011, Victor Wanyama quickly became a popular figure amongst Celtic supporters, winning plaudits for his tough-tacking and defensive work. In 2013, Southampton swooped for the Nigerian, and after impressing in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino, Wanyama earned himself a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2016, linking up with his former manager. Now playing a massive part in their push for the Premier League title, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s return to Celtic would be a dream for fans.
3. Fraser Forster
England’s Fraser Forster
The third player on this list who Southampton took from Celtic, former Hoops man Fraser Forster has had a difficult season this year. Not quite stepping up to fill the void left behind by Joe Hart as the best English goalkeeper in the Premier League, Fraser Forster’s chances of playing European football seem to have diminished since Claude Puel took over at the St Marys. With Celtic guaranteed to have Champions League football next season, is a return move for the ex-Celtic keeper so hard to imagine?
