Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be considering alternative targets after deciding not to bring the American to Parkhead.
The Scottish Sun reported this week that Celtic will not be pursuing their interest in Portland Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe.
It was claimed that talks were at an advanced stage to bring Nagbe to Parkhead in a £3 million deal worth £10,000 a week.
However, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is now said to be considering alternatives to the 26-year-old, who flew to Glasgow to watch the Bhoys’ November defeat to Barcelona.

Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest)
Lansbury is Nottingham Forest’s joint-top scorer this season with six goals, however, he is expected to leave the City Ground in 2017 having entered the final six months of his contract. The Arsenal product, 26, could link up with former Forest teammate Dorus De Vries at Celtic.
Daniel Williams (Reading)
Nagbe’s United States colleague has excelled for Reading this season but, like Lansbury, is out of contract in June and yet to commit to the Royals. German-born Williams was previously on the books of Hoffenheim.
Jack Cork (Swansea City)
Celtic could take advantage of Swansea’s precarious position by moving for Cork, who has been in and out of the side in recent weeks. The 27-year-old was coached by Rodgers at both Chelsea and Watford and credits the Bhoys boss with turning him into a Premier League player.
