Could players from Celtic and Birmingham City feature on the Ulsterman’s wishlist at Leicester City?

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is seen arriving prior to the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Celtic and Motherwell at Celtic Park on February 24, 2019 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Leicester City this evening confirmed the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager, after agreeing terms with the Ulsterman and his former club, Celtic.

Rodgers is likely to have a far bigger budget to work with at Leicester, but who will he look to target with it?

Here are three players – two from Celtic and one from Birmingham City – we suspect could feature on his wishlist…

Kieran Tierney (Celtic)

Kieran Tierney of Celtic is seen during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park on April 29, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Although the left-back may have missed a large chunk of this season through injury, he remains, arguably, Celtic’s most saleable asset after Moussa Dembele’s exit last summer. And while Ben Chilwell may be shining in Tierney’s position at Leicester, Manchester City are said to be planning an end-of-season move for the Englishman (The Sun). The Celtic player would be an ideal replacement.

James Forrest (Celtic)

James Forrest of Celtic controls the ball during the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Motherwell at Hampden Park on May 19, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The winger’s recent performances have been to such a high standard that he is said to be interesting Liverpool (The Sun) ahead of the summer window. Leicester may not be short in Forrest’s position, although Rodgers likes his wide players and could try to reunite with the Scotland international, whose career he has revived since arriving at Celtic.

Che Adams (Birmingham City)

The striker scored his 20th and 21st league goals of the season on Saturday and looks destined for a big-money summer move, with Birmingham reportedly seeking £22 million (The Times). Both Leicester (The Mirror) and Celtic (also Mirror) have been credited with interest in Adams, who was born and raised in the East Midlands city. He could be the man to eventually succeed Jamie Vardy at the King Power Stadium.
