Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth have a huge summer transfer window ahead of them with the futures of Nathan Ake and Ryan Fraser up in the air.

According to a report from The Sun (Sunday, May 19th, page 63), Bournemouth’s star defender Nathan Ake is likely to leave the club this summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier this month that Serie A side Napoli are considering a move for the versatile defender while The Telegraph reported of interest from Tottenham, Manchester United and former club Chelsea earlier this season.

The Dutchman has missed just eight minutes of action in the Premier League this season and is one of Eddie Howe’s first names on the team sheet. Losing Ake will be a terrible blow for the Cherries but here are three players who Bournemouth should consider as his replacement in the summer.

Calum Chambers

The Arsenal defender is expected to be among the list of players that Unai Emery would be willing to offload in the summer according to The Daily Mail and Bournemouth should try their luck in the coming weeks. Chambers has spent the season out on loan at Fulham where he has been a shining light in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the Whites.

The 24-year-old has shown a lot of promise this season and he would bring in the versatility of being able to play at right-back and in midfield along with his natural position at the centre of defence. Chambers would be a fantastic addition to Bournemouth’s current set of players and Howe should consider a move for him in the summer.

Fikayo Tomori

Tomori has been one of the best defenders in the Championship this season for Derby County but the youngster is expected to return to Chelsea at the end of his loan deal. Derby would certainly want him back next season especially if they can achieve promotion to the Premier League.

The youngster’s pace, strength and defensive awareness has been top notch for the Rams this season and he would be a wonderful addition to the Premier League. Bournemouth should swoop in ahead of Derby and Tomori’s other potential suitors to sign him in the summer.

Jemerson

The Brazilian has had a hugely disappointing campaign with Monaco this season but that should take nothing away from how good a defender he is. Jemerson will enter into the final year of his contract with the Ligue 1 outfit and Bournemouth should try to bring him in on a cut-price deal in the summer.

The 26-year-old is a fantastic defender who possesses good pace and positional discipline. The Brazilian enjoys the physical side of the game and isn’t afraid to get stuck in to win the ball back which would make him an ideal addition to the Premier League next season.
