HITC Sports looks at three players who Newcastle United should move on when the transfer window re-opens.

Dwight Gayle

The £10 million signing played a huge role in helping Newcastle United win promotion back to the Premier League last season, but the fact he is limited to 10 and 15-minute cameos here and there this time around might suggest that he doesn’t serve a real purpose this season and a departure might be best for all concerned.

He is the Magpies’ third-choice striker and Gayle – who has 15 goals in 70 Premier League games – simply isn’t prolific enough at this level to change that.

Jack Colback

By virtue of the fact he was not included in Newcastle’s team photo this season, Colback is quite literally not in the picture at St James’s Park any longer.

Rafael Benitez confirmed that the former Sunderland midfielder was not training with the senior squad and it would be a huge surprise if the 27-year-old is not disposed of by the Spanish manager in January.

Henri Saivet

If there is one thing more puzzling than why Newcastle signed Henri Saivet then it’s why he’s still on the North East. Signed by Steve McClaren in January 2016, the Senegal international has only managed four league appearances for the Magpies and he lined up alongside Colback in a Checkatrade Trophy game for the Under-23s this week.

It would be a minor miracle if he, like Colback, remains at St James’s Park beyond the January window.
