Newcastle United are expected to have money to spend in the January transfer window.

With the January transfer window now open, we take a look at how Newcastle United’s team may look at the end of the month.

Goalkeeper: Karl Darlow

Rob Elliot may be edging closer to fitness, but Rafael Benitez has no reason to change his number one at St. James’ Park.

Left-back: Paul Dummett

He still divides opinion of Newcastle’s fans, but seems to have established himself as first choice left-back.

Centre-back: Jamaal Lascelles

The club captain will remain an important part of Newcastle’s team.

Centre-back: Ciaran Clark

He has been a solid option since moving from Aston Villa.

Right-back: DeAndre Yedlin

Yedlin has been used sparingly so far, but he could still have a big part to play before the end of the season.

Defensive midfield: Isaac Hayden / Tom Cleverley

Defensive midfield: Jonjo Shelvey

Newcastle’s key man will come back into the first-team when he returns from suspension.

Right-wing: Ruben Loftus Cheek

Newcastle have been linked with a loan move for the Chelsea youngster and he would make an excellent addition (The Sun).

Attacking midfield: Fabian Delph

Delph could be given an attacking role at Newcastle, such is his quality, if Benitez is able to sign the Manchester City man (The Sun).

Left-wing: Matt Ritchie

Ritchie has been a superb signing for the Magpies, and his place in the starting line-up looks safe.

Striker: Dwight Gayle

After scoring 19 goals for the season already, Gayle looks set to stay as Newcastle’s main front man.
