West Ham United have been linked with over 40 players during the January transfer window so far.
West Ham have turned a corner under David Moyes of late but face a crucial two months in their season which could all but secure the club’s Premier League safety.
The Scot has seen his squad ravaged by injury of late with Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll joining Michail Antonio, Winston Reid, Diafra Sakho, Andre Ayew and Edimilson Fernandes on the sidelines.
As a result the need for new signings has become even more acute but as yet the Hammers have failed to do any business, much to the frustration of supporters.
Speculation has been rife surrounding three players in particular of late, though, with various reports claiming they are Moyes’ key targets ahead of next Wednesday’s deadline.
Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario, Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and Anderlecht star Leander Dendoncker have all been heavily linked in the last two weeks.
According to reports the Hammers are close to landing former academy player and West Ham fan Shelvey for £12 million while the club is closing on signing Mario on loan with an option to buy.
