Tottenham Hotspur take on the French club next week.

Tottenham Hotspur return to the Champions League next week with a home clash against French side AS Monaco.
Spurs have had a mixed start to the new Premier League campaign but they will be hoping to hit the ground running in Europe’s elite competition.
In order to do that, they will have to get the better of some very impressive players in Monaco’s ranks and here we take a look at three of the best.

Fabinho
Brazilian right-back Fabinho has been reinvented as a defensive midfielder in the principality and he has excelled in that role.
He is likely to be tasked with protecting his back-line against the likes of Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen and the Tottenham midfield will have to be at their best to get a foothold in the game.
He is not just a holding player, as his four goals in just six appearances this season testify, although it is worth noting that all four came from the penalty spot.

Kamil Glik
Polish international centre-back Kamil Glik had a superb Euro 2016 campaign and he will be the man mountain that Tottenham’s forwards have to attempt to navigate.
One of the top defenders at the summer tournament, he is a leader who could easily inspire Monaco to an away win if Spurs are not at their best.

Joao Moutinho
A player long linked with a move to England, Portuguese international Joao Moutinho played a major role in Monaco’s recent 3-1 triumph over Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain prior to the international break and the 29-year-old will no doubt start against Tottenham.
He has an eye for an assist and a goal and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will want to negate his influence from the outset.
