Ryan Giggs has suddenly become the odds-on favourite with Sky Bet to be appointed as the new Sunderland manager following the sacking of David Moyes.
It would be Giggs’ first permanent job in management having previously been caretaker and assistant at Manchester United, but while his experience in the dugout may be limited his contacts will not be.
Having won 36 trophies during 24 years in the Red Devils first team, the 43-year-old would surely be greeted with open arms by his former club should he look to sign any of their players; so here are three youngsters that could be ideal for the Black Cats.
Manchester United’s Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

Brought into the first team by Louis van Gaal in 2015/16, the left-back has 14 senior appearances to his name but has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho and was sent on-loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers this term.
Although Bryan Oviedo is currently at the Stadium of Light, the departure of Patrick van Aanholt was a big blow on the left side of defence and Borthwick-Jackson could be the perfect man to add competition.

Most Sunderland players did not shower themselves in glory in 2016/17, but there is every chance that the likes of Fabio Borini and Wahbi Khazri will still be poached this summer, meaning wingers may be a must.
Mitchell is considered one of the most exciting young talents at Old Trafford, with injury the only thing having limited his progress towards the first team and the 20-year-old also has the ability to play at left-back.

Just as Giggs may need to recruit out wide if given the job, central defence could be another area with Lamine Kone likely to be sold and veterans Joleon Lescott and John O’Shea out of contract.
Therefore Tuanzebe, who made first team appearances this campaign and is highly rated at United, could add some youth to what has looked a tired back line in recent times.
