Liverpool trio Jordon Ibe, Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson all deserve a chance to show what they can do in the first-team next year.

Liverpool are famed for bringing through young players and their current crop are no different, with a number of youngsters suggesting they have the ability to forge first-team careers at Anfield.

With some of Brendan Rodgers’ senior stars flattering to deceive he may be looking at which of the next generation should be given a chance to show what they can do.

With 2015 fast approaching, we take a look at three young Liverpool players who should be given a chance either in the second half of this season or at the beginning of the following campaign.

Jordon Ibe

Jordon Ibe is the most obvious name on this list and a player who some Liverpool fans may wish was a first-team option now. Instead the 18-year-old is on loan at Championship club Derby County, where he has scored three goals in 14 appearances.

It could be a argued that Ibe has already been given a chance in the Liverpool first-team having made three appearances for the club (and setting up two goals in that time). But next season Rodgers must give the winger regular opportunities; the Reds will be better off if he does.

Ryan Kent

Liverpool’s website has recently conducted a number of question-and-answer sessions with the Reds’ youth players and the same question is asked in every session: Who is the most skilful player at your level? And the same name keeps coming up: Ryan Kent.

He may only be 18 but the winger-cum-secondary-striker is being hailed as the next big thing and it can only be a matter of time before Rodgers gives him a first-team chance.

Harry Wilson

The youngest player ever to be capped by Wales, Harry Wilson is the other big thing currently generating buzz at Anfield.

The 17-year-old left-winger is a goal-threat and a regular provider of assists and while we are not suggesting Rodgers should build a team around him anytime soon, the Liverpool boss may well be thinking of giving the teenager a taste of first-team action as he has with a number of other teenagers in recent times.
