Will any of these talented youngsters ever get the chance they deserve at Liverpool?

Liverpool are one of the Premier League leaders when it comes to giving young players a chance.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are two of the fledgling talents who have seized their opportunites so far this season, and here are three more young Reds who deserve a crack at the first team…

Marko Grujic

Despite being one of the standout performers in his two pre-seasons with Liverpool and a full international with Serbia, Grujic has only made one start and four substitute appearances for Jurgen Klopp this season.

With Emre Can poised to run down his contract and leave Anfield for free next summer, as The Independent reports, now is the time to start looking to the future and give 21-year-old holding midfielder Grujic his big break.

Danny Ward

At 24 years old, Ward is only young by goalkeeping standards but his career at Liverpool is still very much in its infancy. He has made just three first-team outings for the Reds, most recently in the Carabao Cup in September, but gained wonderful experience in helping Huddersfield Town to promotion via the playoffs last season.

Neither Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius have proved consistent enough to nail down the number-one spot, and yet Wales international Ward is still waiting on his opportunity to prove that he is Liverpool’s goalkeeper of the future.

Harry Wilson

There is not much more the 20-year-old can do to knock down the first-team door at Anfield. He scored 12 goals and assisted seven more for Liverpool’s Under-23 side in the Premier League 2 last season, and has taken it up a notch this term with seven goals in six games – more than Danny Ings, Dominic Solanke and Rhian Brewster combined.

All that has been worth so far is a second-half cameo in the FA Cup third round in January. Klopp is blessed with options on the wing, but needs to start involving Wilson soon before he looks elsewhere for first-team action.
