The Whites are flying in the Championship at present, but these three need to up their game.

While the two week international break is taking place, Leeds United will be working towards making sure they stay in the play-offs with just eight games to play in the Championship.

There will also be some players in the team who arrived in the summer who see this as a last chance to prove their worth this season, as they haven’t hit their best form in a white shirt. Here are three players who need to step up after the window, if selected.

Kemar Roofe

The 24-year-old winger hasn’t fared badly in his first season in the Championship by any stretch, but while he’s proved a useful option for Garry Monk’s side, fans – and probably Roofe as well – will be expecting better. The former Oxford United man currently has two goals and five assists in 34 matches, but his inconsistency is understandably frustrating Leeds fans. However, if Roofe can find some solid form and maintain it, there’s no doubt that he can be a top player for the Whites.

Marcus Antonsson

It’s just as well Leeds have Chris Wood, because if they only had Antonsson up top, they would be nowhere near the play-offs. The 25-year-old Swede has found the rough and tumble of the Championship difficult to adapt to, and has mustered just one goal in 16 league appearances. If Leeds are to get promoted, Antonsson will be surplus to requirements – at least in the short term – unless he can prove himself in these eight final fixtures.

Matt Grimes

The 21-year-old arrived on loan for the season with a lot of promise, however Leeds fans are yet to see anything that resembles promise from Grimes so far this season. The midfielder has made 10 appearances for Leeds in all competitions, with just one start in the Championship – which saw Grimes being taken off at half time. Grimes hasn’t featured since Leeds exited the FA Cup to Sutton United, and unless he produces something special in these two weeks, it’s very possible he won’t play for Leeds again this campaign.
