Leeds United have a strong record when it comes to producing exciting youngsters from their academy.

The early signs to this season suggest that the side that Garry Monk has assembled arguably has the best chance of challenging for a place in the top six of any Leeds team since the side that Simon Grayson led to 7th in their first campaign back in the second tier.
It should hardly be surprising therefore, that the Whites’ squad appears to have several players who are destined to play at the highest level.
With that in mind, here are three members of the current Leeds squad that appear to have the potential to shine in the Premier League one day, whether that be with Leeds or elsewhere

Of all of the current Leeds squad, Charlie Taylor is arguably the most likely to find himself playing in the top flight. The left-back’s contract at Elland Road expires at the end of the season, and it was made apparent that as of the summer, his intention is to move on when his deal runs out. BBC Sport reports that he had a transfer request turned down by the Whites hierarchy during the recent window.
And while The Sun more recently suggested that United were planning to offer him a new deal, the fact that Bournemouth and West Ham – both of whom have signed fellow Leeds academy graduates in recent times – are interested in a move will surely make the Peacocks’ task of trying to keep him much tougher.

Alex Mowatt’s Leeds career has arguably stagnated slightly in recent times, but that does not mean that he does not have the talent to one day shine at the top table. He is capable of dictating play, and has shown on several occasions that he can find the back of the net with an absolute screamer. His versatility in midfield may make him an appealing option to a top flight boss, but it seems that continually playing him in one position is what will bring the very best out of him.
The Mirror reported in 2015 that Liverpool, Everton and West Ham were all keeping their eye on the midfielder. And while all three have since changed their manager, the interest confirms that he has been on the Premier League radar, so could easily be there again if he becomes a talisman for Leeds.

Ronaldo Vieira may have only made his first-team debut on the final day of last season, but he already appears to be developing into an excellent player in the Championship. The 18-year-old is battling Liam Bridcutt and Eunan O’Kane for one of the two holding-midfield spots in the side, but has already established himself as a genuine contender for a place in the team. Playing alongside the previously mentioned pair will surely give him a great chance of realising his seemingly enormous potential and ensuring that he is known for much more than his brilliant name in the future.
