With Leeds United losing 3-0 to Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship last Friday evening, we look at three players who are in danger of being dropped against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road in the league on Wednesday evening.

Eunan O’Kane

Eunan O’Kane is not having a good season on a personal level, and the performance of the 27-year-old last week left much to be desired.

The midfielder was largely anonymous against Middlesbrough and failed to make any positive impact on the match.

It is hard to see the Republic of Ireland international retain his place in the Leeds team for the game against Wolves.

Kalvin Phillips

Kalvin Phillips was substituted at half time, and one suspects that Leeds head coach Paul Heckingbottom will not include him in the starting lineup against Wolves.

The 22-year-old is a capable midfielder, but his performance in the first half against Boro was disappointing.

Wolves are a much better team than Middlesbrough, and Heckingbottom will probably not risk the youngster against Nuno’s team at Elland Road.

Vurnon Anita

Vurnon Anita is one of the most experienced players in the current Leeds job, and the versatile Dutchman, who can operate as a full-back or as a defensive midfielder, does give his all.

However, the former Newcastle United star, who won the Eredivisie with Ajax back in 2011 and 2012, struggled to cope with Adama Traore last weekend.

It would make much sense for Heckingbottom to deploy Laurens De Bock at left-back against Wolves.
