The Whites welcome the Suffolk side to Elland Road on Saturday.

Leeds United’s season has finally gotten going with three straight wins in league and cup, and another against Ipswich Town on Saturday will see them climb above the Tractor Boys in the table and potentially up to ninth.
The Whites recruited heavily in the summer transfer window, bringing in 11 new faces in total. But will they be envious of their opponents’ business come 5pm on Saturday?
Here’s three recently-acquired Ipswich players that could have done a job for Leeds.
Adam Webster
Sol Bamba’s departure from Elland Road was massively ill-timed, leaving the Whites short at centre-back. While Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson may have forged a promising partnership in recent weeks, someone like Webster at 21-year-old could have been a wise investment with the future in mind. That said, the former Portsmouth man has made a bright start to his first season above the third tier, and may not have had the chance at Elland Road.

Grant Ward
One of a number of talented prospects to emerge from Tottenham Hotspur’s academy in recent years, the versatile midfielder has scored four goals and made another for the Tractor Boys already. Ward, who impressed on loan to Rotherham United last season, cost Mick McCarthy’s side £600,000 (Transfermarkt). Former Elland Road chief Neil Warnock managed the 21-year-old in South Yorkshire and claims to have told his Ipswich counterpart that whatever he paid he would get his money back (Talksport).

Leon Best
Though he would perhaps struggle to get in Leeds’ starting lineup, Best could have been the additional striker sought by Garry Monk before the close of the transfer window. The 30-year-old has won all three of his contests with the Whites.
