Rangers recovered from the midweek defeat at Kilmarnock to pick up a vital 3-0 win over Livingston at Almondvale Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers flopped massively at Rugby Park in midweek, and with Celtic beating St Mirren and then Hamilton Academical, Steven Gerrard’s men had to get back to winning ways.

Gerrard got exactly what he wanted in a convincing 3-0 win, with Ryan Jack opening the scoring for Rangers in the first half before a strong second half showing.

Ryan Kent grabbed a second after the break with a powerful finish, before Alfredo Morelos added a third by rounding goalkeeper Liam Kelly to slot into an empty net.

Rangers move back to within three points of Celtic with that victory, getting back on track after a disappointing trip to Rugby Park on Wednesday evening.

After the game, a number of Rangers players took to Twitter to send messages to fans, who again followed the Gers in great voice as they always do.

Captain James Tavernier praised the reaction from his teammates, with Daniel Candeias – arguably the man of the match – celebrating a ‘great win’ on his return to the side.

Ross McCrorie again impressed in holding midfield, and he also celebrated three points as Rangers got back to winning ways with a crucial away win.
