Former Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur boss Sherwood is in line to replace Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Queens Park Rangers, according to the Sun.
According to the Sun, Queens Park Rangers could turn to Tim Sherwood as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s replacement if the R’s lose to Nottingham Forest this weekend.
The report claims that Sherwood, the former manager of Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, is desperate for a return to the game, a year after he was shown the door at Villa Park.
If true, Sherwood is bound to have drawn up a list of potential signings with the Winter transfer window now less than two months away.
Could the following three players feature if he moves to QPR?
Zeki Fryers (Crystal Palace)
Brought to Tottenham when Sherwood was academy boss, Fryers featured under the 47-year-old at both under-21 and senior levels. Now at Palace, having left White Hart Lane in 2014, the left-back could fill the void left by Jake Bidwell’s injury, if the R’s man hasn’t returned by then.
Andre Green (Aston Villa)
Despite raving about him at Villa, Sherwood never got round to using Green, who has played eight times for the Villans but is yet to feature under new boss Steve Bruce. Sherwood, however, could give the 18-year-old the opportunities he needs. Green, who can play on either flank as well as behind a main striker, could be a useful addition for QPR, if only on loan, after the R’s lost Matt Phillips and Junior Hoilett last summer.
Alex Pritchard (Norwich City)
Signed by Norwich for £8 million in the summer, Pritchard has struggled to nail down a regular place at Carrow Road. Sherwood often used the 23-year-old in his development squad at Tottenham and an enquiry is surely on the cards. Whether it’s successful or not remains to be seen, however.
