The former Derby County manager is set to take over at Swansea City.
Paul Clement is set to be appointed the new Swansea City manager, and will be armed with a £30 million warchest in January, according to the Daily Mirror.
The former Derby County boss is arguably one of football’s most connected, having assisted at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and, most recently, Bayern Munich.
But could he put his contacts to good use and bring any of the following three players to South Wales this month?
Thomas Ince (Derby County)
Ince scored eight goals and assisted another three in 28 appearances under Clement last season and is one of the Rams’ form players again this time around. Swansea are said to be chasing a new winger (with PSV Eindhoven’s Luciano Narsingh heavily linked), but their manager may prefer to stick with someone he knows. Derby, though, are likely to prove reluctant sellers, with promotion again on the agenda at Pride Park.

Jese Rodriguez (Paris Saint-Germain)
Jese made his Real Madrid breakthrough under Clement and then-boss Carlo Ancelotti, before being sold to PSG for £21 million in the summer. Having failed to make an impact in France, the 23-year-old forward is already being linked with a move away this month. Las Palmas, Liverpool and Roma are among the clubs said to be keen on the Canary Islander, but a loan to Clement’s Swans could appeal.

Holger Badstuber (Bayern Munich)
The injury-plagued centre-back has made just three appearances for Bayern this season, and could be bound for pastures new with his contract up in the summer. Manchester City have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, although six months at a club like Swansea could be the most beneficial move as he looks to rebuild his career. The Welsh side failed to properly replace Ashley Williams in the summer and, though an ambitious target, Badstuber would be ideal.

Could Swansea land any of the aforementioned Derby County, PSG or Bayern Munich stars this month?
