Glasgow Rangers must dramatically improve if they are to challenge for the title next season.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
Gers boss Pedro Caixinha has his work cut-out if he is to close the gap on bitter rivals Celtic next season, and mastermind a title challenge for his side.
The Glasgow giants have endured a desperately disappointing return to the Scottish Premiership, after their four-year hiatus from the top flight, and currently sit 36 points adrift of Brendan Rodgers’ men.
The problem for Caixinha is that there is a severe lack of funds available at Ibrox, at the moment at least, so he will have to be smart in his player recruitment this summer.
Having scored 45 less goals than the Hoops, the addition of a forward will surely feature highly on the Rangers manager’s list of priorities.
With that in mind, here are three potential strikers who will be available on a free transfer this summer, who the Portuguese should consider…
Arouna Kone, Everton:
The experienced forward’s contract with the Toffees expires this summer, and he could be a useful option for the Gers.
At 33, the Ivory Coast international obviously isn’t the player he once was, but he still possesses the kind of quality that would undoubtedly improve the Rangers side.
His unselfish running into the channels would compliment Kenny Miller’s style, and he would offer Caixinha more options in the attacking wide areas.

Frazier Campbell, Crystal Palace:
The 29-year-old’s contract with the Eagles is set to expire at the end of the season, and he seemingly has all the attributes required to be a success in Scotland.
Quick off the mark, and intelligent in his running, the former Manchester United youngster could prove to be a real coup for the 54-time Scottish champions.
He is in a similar bracket to Scott Sinclair, in the sense that he could flourish in the Scottish Premiership, when afforded more time and space in and around the penalty area. He also has plenty of years left with which to prove himself, and could form an exciting two-pronged attack with Miller.

The 32-year-old Brazilian is another out-of-contract striker available this summer, and Rangers should not hesitate in bringing him to Ibrox.
He is most well-known for his spells at Inter Milan, Lyon and Villarreal, but has spent the last two seasons plying his trade in Dubai.
He is an accomplished finisher, and his experience of playing at the highest level in European football could prove to be priceless for the Gers.
