There are three former Spurs strikers on the free transfer market right now – should any be considered to help out after Harry Kane’s injury?

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s injury, which could up ruling him out for eight weeks or more, according to sources such as the Guardian, leaves the club short in attack, with Vincent Janssen Tottenham’s only recognised senior striker.
Spurs only registered 20 players to the Premier League, such is their confidence in youth right now, meaning that hypothetically they could sign five free transfer players and register them for domestic football.
That is certainly not Pochettino’s way, and it is likely that he will continue to put his faith in youth, even if the club experience more injury problems.
But the three players mentioned below have experience of playing at White Hart Lane at various stages of their career, and could arguably be an option, albeit a controversial one, were the unthinkable to happen and Vincent Janssen also be unable to play for whatever reason.
Feel free to suggest who you would consider bringing back to the club on a short term deal in the comments section below:
Emmanuel Adebayor
The most recent and controversial option, it would be a major surprise if Adebayor ever ends up back at White Hart Lane, especially given the way his time at the club ended. But he is arguably one of the better free transfer options available on the current market, given his age and talent.

A short term, pay-as-you-play deal would secure Tottenham from getting burnt with Adebayor as they did before, while he has played with many of these players as recently as last year, and there have already been farfetched rumours from Tuttomercatoweb about him returning earlier in the summer – but would Spurs fans ever entertain it actually happening?
Dimitar Berbatov
Another player who left Spurs in acrimonious circumstances, nevertheless, most Spurs supporters would admit that the Bulgarian is arguably one of the best strikers they’ve had at the club during the Premier League era.
Dimitar Berbatov Salonika
Most recently played for PAOK in Greece, where he was still scoring goals, Berbatov will never lose his quality and didn’t have much mobility at the best of times. He would easily be able to link up with Tottenham’s technical players if he was brought back to White Hart Lane.
Bobby Zamora
The least likely former Spur to return to North London, Zamora arrived at Spurs way back in 2003 as one of England’s most promising strikers. It never worked out for him, and he was a makeweight in the deal that originally brought Jermain Defoe to Tottenham.

West Ham, and then Fulham, had periods of bustling, committed play from the now 35-year-old, before Zamora returned to Brighton last year via a spell with QPR. He was released after one season but was very much involved in the Seagulls’ promotion challenge.
Again, could probably play back up at a pinch, but if Spurs resorted to Zamora they would be admitting to a failed transfer policy in the summer.
